Damon's friend needs you help.
Hey guys, sorry, but Sarah and I have not decided to come back from our
vacation early, so no new video today, but I did want to see if you can help
my buddy out. One of my buddy's (and an avid Friday Video enthusiast)
produced a music video that has made it pretty far in a contest (read the
e-mail below for more info) and it's up to the general public to vote on it.
If you've got a moment, please check out the video on the link below and if
you like it vote for it. You'll need quicktime to view it. But even if you
can't view it, go ahead and vote for it anyways and consider yourself a

Hey Damon,
Now the main reason I'm writing is because of a music video that my roommate
and I made a couple of months ago. I don't know if I told you about this,
but basically, we entered a contest where you had to make a music video to
the Tori Amos song, TAXI RIDE. My roommate directed it and I produced it.
About a week and a half ago, we got a call from Sony Music Business Affairs
office, telling us that we are one of the nine finalists, out of 2000
entries. So now the nine finalists are now on posted on a web site for
people to vote for, and I was hoping you could check out our video, and if
you like it, vote for it and maybe get your friends to vote for it too.The website is: www.toriamos.com/taxivision
and our video is the first one and it's under my roommates name: BARCLAY

7/12/2003 - The voting is over, thanks everyone who voted.
7/14/2003 - Well Mike didn't make it but congratulations on being Runner Up. Tori posted the Top 3 and this Video was #2. This Video matched the Video except for not featuring a Taxi in it which is the Title and theme so it is not surprising that it did not win, however the Video can surely be used for another song along a similar line.
The Video by Susan Herbert was #1. This Video was the one I thought would give Mike's a run for the money because the main backdrop was from the backseat of a Taxi. Congrats to Susan.

KFC steals Video Contest idea saying it is their Public Relations Team idea.
After a quiet Summer here at Damon Wiener Friday Videos except for the promotion of the Tori Amos Video Contest, today KFC announces a Contest for people to submit a winning Commercial. The news about this is that they are claiming this idea comes from their "Public Relations Team". Tori Amos and Damon Wiener Fans should stand up and complain.
